Monreal Latin Blues is a Bay Area based band with South American roots steeped and driven by the feelings and attitude of the blues cultivating Latin American music with their songs deeply influenced by their Andean heritage.
Sebastián Monreal has been influenced by West Montgomery, George Benson Santana, Grant Green, Marc Ribot, Steve Kahn and Bill Evans from North America and from Latin America Victor Jara, Violeta Parra, Ángel Parra, Federico Danneman, Irakere and Chucho Valdés among many others. Many of the Chilean compositions of Victor Jara and the Parras liken the melancholic, lamenting, soulful deep feelings of the blues, but in their own way.
The music is a subtle blend of sounds unified by the human feelings that cry about lost love and the human hardships as victims of a colonized world. Latin American blues blend Afro-Latin rhythms with heartfelt Spanish melodies expressing our human feelings of love, aspirations in difficult times and our hopes for a brighter future where humanity thrives as one. The songs are about coping with life in a materialistic and competitive world by finding solidarity in each other as humans pursuing to be free.

Monreal Latin Blues es una banda basada en la Bahía de San Francisco con raíces sudamericanas empapada y dirigida por el sentimiento y la actitud del blues así cultivando la música latinoamericana con sus canciones profundamente influíadas por su herencia andina.
Sebastián Monreal ha sido influenciado por West Montgomery, George Benson Santana, Grant Green, Marc Ribot, Steve Kahn y Bill Evans de Norte América, y de Latinoamérica Victor Jara, Violeta Parra, Ángel Parra, Federico Danneman, Irakere y Chucho Valdés entre otros. Muchas de las composiciones chilenas de Victor Jara y los Parra asemejan el sentimiento melancólico del alma y la queja profunda de los blues de Norte América, pero, a su manera.
La música es una sutíl mezcla de sonidos unificados por los sentimietos humanos que lloran acerca de amores perdidos y las dificultades como víctimas de un mundo colonizado. El blues latinoamericano mezcla ritmos Afro-Latinos con sentidas melodías españolas para expresar nuestros sentimientos de amor y nuestras aspiraciones en tiempos dificiles para luchar por nuestra libertad y tener la esperanza de un futuro mejor donde la humanidad surge como uno. Las canciones son acerca de nuestro afrontamiento a la vida en solidaridad, el uno con el otro, como humanos aspirando a ser libres, y así, felices.
